The Champion Lakes Regatta Centre - Western Australia's only purpose-built rowing facility - is an exciting facility that is enjoyed by not only WA's watersport fraternity, but the community as a whole. With a 55 hectare lake, 2000 metre international standard rowing course, warm up lake, boat shed storage area and clubhouse, the centre is home to a number of sporting groups and hosts national and international competitions. Since opening in April 2007, the centre has hosted Dragon Boat, Kayaking, Rowing and Radio Sailing National Championships as well as State Championships in Rowing, Kayaking, Outrigger Canoes, and Radio Sailing. Champion Lakes is also home to Western Australia's 'Head of the River' competitions. The venue will host the 2012 Australian Rowing Championships and be an important training ground for Australia's Olympic Rowing and Kayaking teams in the lead up to the 2012 London Olympics. |

World-Class Attraction
This world-class facility is not just for boating and watersport enthusiasts. It features a variety of facilities for the community to enjoy including landscaped cycling and walking paths around the lake, a white-sand swimming beach plus picnic and barbeque areas.
The Champion Lakes Regatta Centre environs will soon boast a number of new facilities including the Aboriginal Interpretive Centre, which celebrates the strong traditional presence of the Nyoongar people in the region. Other contiguous developments will provide a high-quality residential area, a business and commercial area and possibly resort style accommodation, conference facilities and a white water park.
