Caution - Building Construction
Site works for the construction of additional boat sheds for Rowing WA has commenced on the Sports Island at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre (as from 11 February 2011). Construction will continue for approximately 34 weeks. There will be considerable movement of trucks and work vehicles to and from the island along Henley Drive during the construction phase.
Visitors are requested to be cautious and proceed carefully as they enter and exit the venue. Parking will also be affected. This will be limited to either the bitumen car park at the North east end of the sports island or to the grassed area to the south west of the container compound. There is no parking along Henley Drive and the turnaround.

Access
The Champion Lakes Regatta Centre has been designed with the community in mind. The community has access to a number of walking and cycling paths, open water areas for canoeing and boating and a 'white-sand' beach for public swimming near Henley Drive.
The Sports Island, located in the middle of the facility, is available for organised sessions and functions when booked through the Facility Management.
Hire
The use of the lake at the Champion Lakes Regatta Centre is free but needs to be booked through the Facility Management. The Sports Club is available for hire for sporting & corporate functions. Fees will apply for use of the buildings and some sporting infrastructure.

Membership
Membership at the Champion Lakes Boating Club is available to all members of the public.
The club caters to dragon boating, canoeing, rowing and radio sailing offering entry level, competitive and social activities. Members are able to store some of their equipment in the specially designed boat shed.
The Friends of Champion Lakes is a group within CLBC catering to non-sporting/competitive activities. The public are welcome to join the 'Friends' for walking groups, environmental interests, event volunteers etc
